SiS Youth Home Folåsa receives school-age girls with psychosocial issues as well as criminal behavior and substance abuse.

Job Description

SiS Youth Home Folåsa consists of five departments with space for 36 school-age girls; two MBB departments (reception and needs assessment), two locked treatment departments, one open treatment department, and a school operated in-house. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our youth and clients, and you are responsible for the foundation of daily life, such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. You will also contribute to maintaining the safety of the institution according to our routines, and documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building safe relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth/clients receive the safety and security they need to break old habits. Together with your team of engaged colleagues, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. We are looking for individuals who can work days, evenings, weekends, and those who can work nights.

As a Treatment Assistant (Night)

you will be directly subordinate to the institution's management during your working hours. You are expected to be constantly awake during your shift. You are responsible for maintaining the institution's safety and fire protection during the night and for supervising the youth in the departments. Other tasks may include:

• Assisting with evening routines and bedtime.
• Assisting with morning routines and preparing breakfast.
• Documentation.
• Cleaning.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and the ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your composure even in stressful situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

As a treatment assistant, the following is required:

• Completed upper secondary education with at least a grade of E in:
• at least 2250 out of 2500 points
• the course Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1
• the course English 5
• the course Mathematics 1
• the graduation project
• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., in psychiatry, HVB operations, or care and support.
• B driver's license
• Good Swedish in speech and writing

As a treatment educator, the following is also required:

• Degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or a degree from a university that we assess as equivalent.

In both positions, it is highly meritorious if you have experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., from psychiatry, HVB operations, or from care and support in the form of, e.g., LSS.
